Why? Because our App License Costs can’t be beaten. Robust, low-cost, yet simple-to-use apps built on the Microsoft Power Platform that together with a Microsoft license costs as low as $10 Per User Per Month. And even less for Nonprofits!

Here we will break down, in excruciating detail, any and all costs that you may encounter to use RapidStart Apps.

Microsoft Costs (Required)

RapidStart CRM runs on “full” Power Apps licenses from Microsoft. If you have Microsoft 365 licenses, you may have noticed that a “light” Power Apps feature is part of that which does not offer access to a Dataverse database which RapidStart CRM requires. For RapidStart CRM, you will need “full” Power Apps licenses, which come in three flavors: “Premium”, “Per App”, or “Pay-as-you-Go”. You can use either or a combination.

Power Apps Per App Pass (Subscription)

This is the lowest-cost license that RapidStart CRM can run on. It is $5 Per User Per Month. This license will allow a user to access and fully use a single application, like RapidStart CRM Sales for example. Allocating these licenses requires a little effort, but the effort may make sense if you have many single-application users. These licenses include 50 MB each of database capacity pooled at the tenant level. Here is link to instructions on how to get and use these passes.

Power Apps Premium (Subscription)

This is the most flexible license and easiest to manage. It is $20 Per User Per Month. This license will allow users access to unlimited apps, including non-RapidStart CRM apps that you may have or may build for other purposes. Assigning these licenses is done the same way that Microsoft 365 licenses are assigned, so maintaining them is more straightforward. These licenses also include 250 MB each of database capacity pooled at the tenant level.

Power Apps Per App Plan (Pay-as-you-Go)

This is the most complex licensing to set up and maintain; however, it could make sense if you have many intermittent users, like seasonal users. The cost is $10 per month for each user that logs in during a month. If a user does not log in, there is no cost for the user. This license will allow a user to access and fully use a single application; if the user accesses other applications, you will be charged $10 each app. This requires an Azure account and several setup steps. Our Recommendations

Optimized for the Lowest Cost. We recommend a single “Premium” license plus as many “Per App” licenses as you have additional users. Example: 10 users would cost you $65 USD/Month, plus RapidStart CRM cost.

Optimized for Simplicity. We recommend “Premium” licenses for all users. Example: 10 users would cost you $200 USD/Month, plus RapidStart CRM cost.

This is a small but unavoidable cost. We make nothing on these licenses, and you would purchase them directly from Microsoft or your Microsoft Partner.

Microsoft Costs (Nonprofit)

Microsoft has always offered very generous discounts to Nonprofits, and Power Apps is no exception!

 

Power Apps Per App Pass (Subscription)

This is the lowest-cost license that RapidStart CRM can run on. For Nonprofit organizations, Microsoft offers you 10 of these at no cost at all. Additional passes will cost you $2.50 Per User Per Month. That is a 50% discount from retail. This license will allow a user to access and fully use a single application, like RapidStart CRM Sales for example. Allocating these licenses requires a little effort, but the effort may make sense if you have many single-application users. These licenses include 50 MB each of database capacity pooled at the tenant level.

Power Apps Premium (Subscription)

This is the most flexible license and easiest to manage. The not-for-profit price for these is $5.00 Per User Per Month. That is a 75% discount from retail. This license will allow users access to unlimited apps, including non-RapidStart CRM apps that you may have or may build for other purposes. Assigning these licenses is done the same way that Microsoft 365 licenses are assigned, so maintaining them is more straightforward. These licenses also include 250 MB each of database capacity pooled at the tenant level.

Our Recommendation

Unless you have a very large number of single-app users, the savings are probably not worth the effort to manage the passes. We recommend “Premium” licenses for all users. Example: 10 users would cost you $50 USD/Month, plus RapidStart CRM cost.

RapidStart CRM Pro is our flagship fully customizable and extendable Simple CRM.

Our RapidStart CRM Pro costs $5/pupm. Plus Microsoft licensing. No minimum users.

RapidStart Sales for Dynamics 365

This is a unique version of the RapidStart CRM sales capabilities designed to be installed on a Dynamics 365 Sales environment as an alternative to the Dynamics 365 Sales Apps. It is Sales only and does not include Service capabilities.

This app is designed for Dynamics 365 Sales users with more basic needs.

The advantage is that users can access this app with Power Apps licensing rather than the much more expensive Dynamics 365 Sales licensing.

This app costs $5/pupm, and is purchased via AppSource.

Addons from Others (Optional)

Since RapidStart CRM Pro is built on the Microsoft Power Platform, many Addons built by others, not related or supported by us, will also work with RapidStart CRM Pro. These can also be installed from Microsoft’s AppSource.
